EOT Cranes

GRIP Engineers delivers robust EOT Cranes designed to IS and global standards, ensuring reliable, efficient performance for light to heavy-duty industries.

Overview

‘GRIP’ EOT Cranes are individually designed and engineered to suit customer specifications. Every detail is carefully studied before designing to ensure optimum performance, structural stability, and cost efficiency. Proper stress analysis is carried out to minimize crane weight, wheel loads, headroom, and clearances—ultimately reducing building and operational costs.

With the use of modern CAD technology, ‘GRIP’ ensures precise and faster availability of design information. Our cranes are available in a wide range of capacities, up to 200 tons, catering to diverse industrial needs.

Design

‘GRIP’ cranes are designed in accordance with:

  • IS: 807, IS: 3938, IS: 3177, IS: 4137, IPSS
  • International standards such as CMAA, DIN, FEM & BS (on request)

Duty Classifications

‘GRIP’ EOT Cranes are manufactured for multiple duty classes:

  • Class I (M3): Light Duty – For maintenance, warehouse & assembly operations
  • Class II (M5): Medium Duty – For general engineering & machine shops
  • Class III (M7): Heavy Duty – For heavy machine shops, fabrication units, paper mills, etc.
  • Class IV (M8): Extra Heavy Duty – For continuous operations in steel plants & other heavy engineering industries, including outdoor duty cranes

Crane Bridge

  • Types: Plate Box, Rolled Steel Joist, Compound Beams, Castellated, or Lattice Construction
  • Main butt-weld joints of the web are radiographically tested for maximum reliability
  • Fabricated using IS: 2062 grade material for superior strength and durability

Gear Box

  • Totally enclosed, oil-immersed reduction gearboxes
  • Helical hardened & ground gears made from alloy steel forgings
  • Supported on antifriction ball/roller bearings for smooth operation & shock load resistance

Wheel Assemblies

  • Straight treaded, double-flanged wheels made from forged steel
  • Mounted on self-aligning spherical roller bearings
  • ‘L’ type wheel blocks for easy maintenance
  • Open geared wheel assemblies also available on request

Micro Speed Gear Boxes

  • Micro-speed operations for hoist, trolley, or crane at 5% to 20% of main speed
  • Achieved through VVVF (Variable Voltage Variable Frequency) drives
  • Alternative systems available: Planetary gearing with pony motor & separate brake, or Dual Pole Motors

Couplings

  • Flexible gear couplings between gearbox and rope drum for misalignment protection
  • Geared couplings provided between gearbox and wheel in travel drives
  • Direct positive drives using geared motors available

Brakes

  • Fail-safe electro-hydraulic A.C. thruster brakes (standard)
  • ACEM/DCEM shoe brakes on request
  • DCEM disc brakes with geared motor positive drives

L.T. Drive

  • Independent twin drives provided as standard for smooth crane movement
  • For high-speed cranes, drives on all four wheels available

Motors

  • Totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC), S-4 crane duty motors
  • 40% CDF, 150 starts/hr. capacity
  • Built as per IS:325 / IEC-60034 (Part 1) from reputed makes
  • Voltage range 380V to 480V for international compatibility

Control Options

  • Pendant control from floor
  • Master controller from cabin
